What is the Real Property Review Appraiser (RPRA)?

The RPRA is a professional designation that demonstrates the bearer is uniquely competent to conduct appraisal reviews of complex properties or situations. The RPRA’s appraisal review provides a superior evaluation for all types of enterprises and properties and ensures that an appraisal is in compliance with regulations and professional standards.  The RPRA signifies the highest level of expertise in the review appraisal process, expertise that far exceeds state certification and licensing requirements.  To become an RPRA you must complete a rigorous program consisting of course work, experience, submission of a demonstration report and a comprehensive exam.

The Appraiser who undertakes to get an RPRA will:

  • Acquire the full range of skill required to perform an appraisal review for commercial, rural and residential property types
  • Learn the how to conduct a USPAP compliant reviews
  • Learn how to conduct a UASFLA (“Yellow Book”) compliant review
  • Hone these new skills by applying these concepts through hands on activities and case studies
